Project Overview

In an immersive internship with the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) at FSC. Working on a team of UI/UX designers my role was to create the complete brand identity for the Mid Atlantic Coastal Consortium (MACC) and oversee UI art direction.

The Mid Atlantic Coastal Consortium (MACC) sits on Point Lookout Beach and consists of an analytical laboratory and a renewable energy park. In the lab, experienced and qualified staff members use advanced equipment to test water quality, track native waterbird migration, and complete cellular level investigation to aid in the identification of marine life. The energy park consists of net zero energy buildings- which are self sustainable, geothermal heating, solar installations, hydrogen fuel stations for fuel cell vehicles, and a wind turbine that powers the majority of the facilities.

This experience was a blast from on-site education and inspiration to the awesome community I was welcomed into. A large lesson I left with was the power of designing with community.

Informative Print

A six page brochure features on-site photography, organization of typography and implementation of graphic assets. Site visitors will want to keep turning the page to learn more about what the MACC has to offer. A scannable QR code introduces the reader to a digital world.

Upon completion of the brochure I was asked to create an In Design template for official use, type setting their executive summary and strategic plan.

Digital Assets

Collaborative creation of graphic icons and geometric assets to be used in app.

The goal was to build an informational online hub accessible to all who wanted to learn about renewable energy technologies alongside marine biology, contribute towards research endeavors, and expand the community through membership programs. Localizing these goals as an accessible cell phone app would be bringing educational opportunities to communities and individuals that otherwise would not have access to it.
